Goals of Communications Committee:
- Create a strong narrative of Studio: TESLA’s history, vision, and goals through a cohesive social media campaign and website.
- Connect various committees within Studio: TESLA by creating a monthly newsletter and blog featuring the exciting projects and remarkable work our volunteers do on a daily basis
- Communicate our club’s events to the Wash. U. community and beyond through consistent and effective advertising
Communications is excited to continue sharing the growth and impact of Studio: TESLA within the St. Louis community and beyond.
Photography Chair: Mary Richardson
Responsible for capturing photos and video to document the Scholars throughout the semester by visiting sites 1 - 2 times monthly with Operations team. Photographer also attends such events as Drop Everything and Design Day or Studio: TESLA social events. These photos provide the visual material for the blog, website, social media, and newsletters.
Newsletter Chair: Val Otti
This position oversees our written materials: the monthly newsletter to Studio: TESLA members and the weekly online blog. Newsletter Chair will visit sites 1 - 2 times monthly to speak to volunteers and Scholars and to gather material for the blog. The newsletter consists of material from the blog and any announcements from CORE Team to the general body.
Publicity Chair: Ariadne Bazigos
This position is responsible for all advertising we do on campus and beyond, as well as our social media presence. This includes creating posters for occasional fundraisers and events, posting at least twice weekly on Facebook and Twitter about current TESLA happenings, and helping VP of Communications plan Recruitment at the end of the semester.
Website Chair: Maddy Chung
This position oversees all maintenance and development of our website, www.studio-tesla.org, through Squarespace. This includes posting information provided by CORE Team, as well as creating content to better explain the history, vision, and goals of Studio: TESLA. Close partnership with Photography and Newsletter Chairs is necessary for upkeep of the blog and creating a strong visual narrative across the site.
