External Resources

External Resources is responsible for forging connections and collaborations with partner institutions. They also reach out to various community partners in order to find alternative summer mentoring and education resources for participants once the Studio: TESLA program is completed. When Studio: TESLA plans events such as Drop Everything and Design Day, External Resources heads up the organization and planning.

VP: Mitali Avadhani Class of 2018 Santa Clara, CA Electrical Engineering "Growing up, I never really viewed engineering as a creative pursuit. My perspective only changed after experiencing the engineering design process hands on through a research project in high school. I joined Studio: TESLA to help students realize early on how relevant and exciting engineering can be as well as to inspire more females and minorities to be engineers."

Vp: Imani Madison Class of 2017 Ellicott City, MD Biochemistry (Biology) "I joined Studio: TESLA in 2015 because of its unique focus on promoting creative design and thinking as opposed to following a scripted activity. As witness to several middle school children approaching a problem and coming up with a viable solution, I can say that our efforts have not been wasted in sparking creativity and STEAM literacy."
